In theory wouldn’t the robot just keep spinning or going backwards until the switch is hit again.

This is a great project for all (beginners like me.). I built it and it was really nice. I am thinking on how to make it go backwards and forward with a remote control system. I love it. Why don’t we try to take this up a notch. Lets do it together. ciao.
