Terminator Salvation Trailer

Posted on March 4th, 2009 in Misc

A new Terminator Salvation trailer has hit the interwebs. Check it out in all its glory below (it’s pretty spoiler-y, fyi).

Thoughts? I’m honestly pretty skeptical. Sure, it looks nice, but its awful hard to have a coherent, meaningful story when there’s this much pressure to please the fanboys.

If you’re looking for a good story then you owe it to yourself to check out Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.  Now that’s worth watching.

The Man Behind (Inside) Robot from Lost in Space Dies

Posted on January 20th, 2009 in Latest News

Bob May, the actor that played “Robot” from the original Lost in Space TV show has died. He died at the age of 69 from congestive heart failure. Lost in Space debuted in 1965, and is a retelling of the Swiss Family Robinson story, in space. Apparently May got the part because, ” … he fit in the robot suit”.

May wore the suit for hours at a time and learned the lines of every actor in the show so he would know when to respond to their cues. Because it wasn’t easy to get in and out of the suit, he kept it on during breaks.

RIP, Mr. May.

Build Your Own Johnny-Five?

Posted on September 30th, 2005 in Latest News

ImageRumor has it that Eric Allard, the original designer of Johnny-Five, the star of everyone’s favorite robot movie, Short Circuit, may be planning on releasing blueprints and selling parts to build your own!

The folks at Johnny-Five.com write:

“It’s not for sure, but Eric Allard, the man who originally built Johnny Five,
is considering reproducing the toys and creating blueprints of the big guy for fans.
It will only happen if there is enough support for it.”

For the uninitiated, Wikipedia has a good entry on our silicon pal.

Update: Commenter Paul pointed us to what looks like the official site for the group doing the blueprints for Johnny-Five.
