RoboNexus 2005 – T-1 Day
Posted on October 5th, 2005 in Latest NewsIn a little under 4 hours I’ll be hopping on a plane for San Jose, CA for RoboNexus 2005. Thursday/Friday I’ll be attending the conference portion of the event, which is designed to be, "a
multifaceted educational
forum and exposition
designed to bring together
in once place, across three
days, all of the key
participants driving the
burgeoning personal, service
and mobile robotics market." I think that roughly translates into, "smart people talking about robots."
There will be four tracks: "Business Development and Opportunities", "Emerging
Robotics Technology, Products, and Applications", "Robotics Design,
Development, and Standards", and "Robotics Education and Curriculum."
We’re going to have two correspondants covering these events to bring
you all the greatest news and updates from the conference. Some
speakers to note are Matt Mason, the director of the CMU Robotics Institute, John Morrell, the Systems Engineering Director for Segway, Colin Angle, the CEO and Founder of iRobot, Rob Ambrose, the Director of the Johnson Space Center. Plus, tons of others.
Also featured will be a Consumer Expo with lots of "cool" things to see, like the Robo-Magellen competition, AIBO demonstrations, "Hack-A-Sapien" contest, and quite a few speakers and educational talks.
Here is a list of the current speaker and event listings.
